I have killed my first jor lebal at level 7. This is the hardest creature in the forest area and I was expecting decent exp for the kill. I actually received one exp...

Is this due to insanity or a bug ?

The Jor Lebal is a level 20 creature. Right now, we are experiencing an issue where lower level players are able to attack and kill (rather quickly) much higher level creatures than intended. We are working hard to fix this. As for the 1 exp, experience gains are based in part due to level difference.

In fact, here is the breakdown for level difference in gaining experience:

Same level = full exp
Difference of 1 level = 95% exp
Difference of 2 levels = 85% exp
Difference of 3 levels = 75% exp
Difference of 4 levels = 65% exp
Difference of 5 levels = 55% exp
Difference of 6 levels = 45% exp
Difference of 7 levels = 35% exp
Difference of 8 levels = 25% exp
Difference of 9 levels = 15% exp
Difference of 10 levels = 5% exp
Anything over 10 level difference = 1 exp point.

Under the above system a lv 20 fighting a lv 20 gets 100% whereas lv 19 would only get 95% which seems odd as it is easier for the level 20 to make the kill.

It would be nice if there was a reward for taking on mobs at levels above your own - maybe +1 level gets 105, +2 levels 115, +3 or above levels 125

Just a suggestion...

Although it sounds like it makes sense, it cannot happen due to potential player abuse. For example, a level 10 gets his level 87 buddy to attack a level 80 creature down to barely a health point, then the level 10 makes the final killing blow. That kind of experience gain for the level 10 would rocket his level up quickly. Besides, it keeps players grouped around like-level creatures, which is how it should be.
